Yard Work

Christie and I are now realizing the joys of owning a house. Last weekend, we travelled to Hickory for another furniture shopping trip. It was a very successful trip as we brought home rugs, living room furniture, and ordered a desk. A few more smaller items and the house will be furnished. Just a tip, but if anyone needs furniture at the best prices, go to Hickory. I'm sure my parents would even offer a place to sleep. We have been so much, we have narrowed down where we buy stuff to about two stores. Check out the "20 Miles of Furniture."

This weekend we were back in the yard adding mulch and a few more plants. I planted a dogwood tree and a cherry tree, while Christie re-potted all the inside plants. Then we worked on spreading more mulch. We are about 3/4 done with the mulch, with two more large beds to go. We also helped split daylillies in the neighborhood and brought some back to our yard for planting. 0n Saturday afternoon, we did our "40 days of Community" service project by doing yardwork in a elderly lady's yard. It was amazing to see how much see appreciated such a small task. I need to help others out more to keep things in perspective.

On Sunday, Christie witnessed for the first time me playing tennis. She decided to soak up some sun and watch me play. It was a long match and she may never come watch me play again. Its kind of hard to watch tennis when you don't know how the scoring system works. So, I'll have to teach her how to score tennis so she'll come watch and support me more often.

The other big news for Wolfpack fans was the departure of good ole' Herb Sendek. It seems to be a win-win situation for NCSU and his family. He has been at NC State for 10 years - it was time for a change. We'll have to wait and see who the future coach will be. NC State needs to ante up and go big!!

How was that for my first post? Have a good week!

Scott - the need for new furniture or accessories will always be present, so be prepared to make frequent trips to Hickory!!

I hope Sendek likes playing in front of only 5000 fans at ASU!!

Glad to see that you are working, Scott! We'll have to visit you guys in Raleigh. By the way, I am kind of sad to see ol' Herb leave Raleigh. He will be missed by many Tarheel fans.
