Yesterday was the wierdest weather day - it was windy, it was calm, it was sunny, it was rainy, it was warm, it was cold...but at the end of the day we saw the most beautiful rainbow I have ever seen. A rainbow in January. Apparently this rainbow was seen across the state (see
Laurie's blog - they live over 60 miles west of us) - we saw it here at home and then Scott called from Raleigh to tell us about it about 10 minutes after it disappeared here. It also showed up on the local news - it truly was the most vibrant, clear, amazing sight. Connor kept asking to see it hours after it got dark. My pictures just don't do it justice.

The rainbow reminded me of how many rainbows that I saw when I was first pregnant with Anna. I think I saw three of them during my "sick" time - one time I could see the entire arch from the window in my ER room while I was by myself getting an IV. What a great reminder that God was with me through it all, whether or not I was sitting by myself in the ER or at home staring out of my window. Rainbows are such special things, but after my experiences with them I will never look at another one without thinking about how I need God's presence in my life each and every day.

Your pictures of the rainbow are better than mine! But as you said the pictures just don't do it justice. Elizabeth keeps asking when we are going to see another rainbow.
I have to admit it is probably because of my brandy-new camera that Scott got me for Christmas - its one of those fast-shoot digital cameras. I have to fix my settings because my pics are about 4 to 5 megs each - hence good pictures. My computer will only hold so many that big! :-)
Oooh I'm jealous. I want a Digital SLR- maybe one day! (then you can teach me how to use it)! We upgraded this summer but just to a fancier point and shoot but, I'm enjoying it for now.
