I thought this was fun, it's going around on our IBM internal "facebook" type interface. It's a fun way to get to know fun things about me for those of you who are not lucky enough to have put up with me for my fun childhood or fun college years. I think everyone who has a blog linked to ours should do it, it's fun. (Oh yeah, I am sitting in a boring conference call about our end-to-end cost...so there is most certainly an element of boredom needed to do this) And did I mention, it's pretty fun?
What were you doing 10 years ago today: May 7th, 1998 - I was most likely in the middle of final exams at RPI, finishing up my sophomore year. That would be finals for horrid classes like Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Material Balances, or (the worst class of all time) Chemical Proccess Control...Bruce Wayne's class for those of you who suffered with me. Then I stuck around school for senior week and attended the Air Force Commissioning ceremony (you guys all rock - thanks for continuing to serve our country!!) and graduation.
5 things on your "to do" list today: 1. send my boss home at 2pm so his wife doesn't get mad and they don't miss their flight to Florida. 2. remember to shut the coffee pot off when I leave the office 3. water the plants outside. 4. watch American Idol 5. get 8 hours of sleep
What would you do if you were a billionaire? First, I would give at least 10% of it to the church. Then I would probably buy a new house that has 4 bedrooms and an office, but nothing extravagant. Next, I would put more than enough away to pay for Connor to go to the college of his choice. Then I would quit my job and start volunteering for a non-profit, probably working with sick kids & their families, doing something that made me feel like I was really making a difference in this world.
3 of your worst habits: 1. Biting my bottom lip when I am stressed/nervous. 2. Not making my bed 3. not paying attention to conference calls.
5 places you have lived: I won't count where I grew up or where I am living now, that is boring. 1. Troy, New York 2. Baton Rouge, Louisiana 3. Hackettstown, New Jersey 4. Syracuse, New York 5. Washington, District of Columbia
5 jobs you have done: 1. Lifeguard/swim instructor - YMCA in Worcester, MA & Troy, NY 2. Quality Engineer - BASF - worked on validating the equipment for the Meridia (tm) plant 3. Operations Engineer - played with pumps and heat exhangers in Ethylene Glycol/Ethylene Oxide plant 4. United States Postal Service - Intern - worked on distribution of equipment used to move the mail 5. Mommy - need-meeting persona extrodinaire
Our family is like the branches on a tree. We may grow in different directions, yet our roots remain as one.
