Monkey Joe Madness

It was a long awaited promise...Scott kept telling Connor that we would go to "Monkey Joe's" and Connor would get all excited. All the while Connor had absolutely no clue what Monkey Joe's was, but it sure sounded like fun to him.

This past Saturday was very rainy and dreary, and faced with the thought of having Connor cooped up in the house yet another day (Friday was raining too) we decided to venture out and introduce Connor to Monkey Joe and all of the bouncy fun.

Monkey Joe's - Connor's Perspective
Huge blow up obstacle courses!
Lots of big kids to play with!
Lots of yelling and screaming and running around inside!
Ability to actually jump on things and not go to time-out!

Monkey Joe's - Mommy's Perspective:

Huge blow up obstacle courses with lots of big kids to run my 2 year old over.
Lots of yelling and screaming and running around inside.
Big germ-infested playground, causing me to incessently whip out my Purell.

Connor highly enjoyed his first Monkey Joe's experience and is still talking about it today. Scott thought it was pretty good, he would definately go back.

As for me...well I walked away with a pulled muscle in my back and a sore neck from lifting 30lbs of child above my head as I tried to simultaneously balance on an ever-moving bouncy obstacle course while navigating a climbing wall while lifting Connor up ahead of me, all the while fending off "big kids" from cutting us off. It was all I could do to not grab kids and lecture them on the virtues of waiting their turn as we bounced through the depths of the playland. I went into exactly two obstacles before declaring it a "daddy job" and offically retiring from the world of Monkey Joe's until my kids are old enough to venture into the bouncy-things all by themselves.
