The Man-Crush

Disclaimer: I found this post written up and saved in my drafts from January 2011.  This is too funny not to post, especially if you know Scott!

It is O'Fishel - yesterday Scott got to shake hands with and have some weather-type banter with his long-standing "Man Crush."  We even have pictures to prove it.

 

Greg Fishel is the most popular weatherman on TV around here.  Honestly, I have never seen a weather-guy be so popular, and trust me, I've lived 6 larger cities in the last 10 years.  His face is plastered on city buses, on billboards, and all over WRAL.com.  He was signing autographs and exchanging what was endless conversation regarding snow (specifically if we had any chance of another snowstorm this winter) for 9 hours yesterday at the "NHL Wide-Open" event in downtown Raleigh.  He was extremely good-natured and really nice to everyone.  By the time we chatted with him he had been there for 6 hours and had 3 empty Krispy-Kreme coffee cups sitting in front of him, and yet he was so sweet to the kids.  He didn't even roll his eyes as Scott asked the question, "Any more chance for snow??"

Now, I say that Scott has a man-crush on The Fish - but in all fairness, I think 80% of the male population in the Triangle does.  Overhearing the conversation between the couple in front of us (this is true!):

Wife: I cannot believe that we are here at the NHL All-Star event, with all of the hockey players signing autographs, and we are standing in line to meet Greg Fishel.
Husband:  I know, this is great!!!
